Halloween falls on every 31st October, and during this festival, both children and adults love to be able to dress up in costumes and just be someone else just for a day.

While children have no problems dressing up as super heroes, villains or other classic characters like Vampires and Frankenstein, not all adults are just as comfortable in dress up.

Adults like dressing up for Halloween just as much as children do, but their choice of costumes differ greatly. While there are those who have no problems dressing up in crazy suits, some adults, especially women, prefer to dress up in vintage wear.

A vintage evening dress is an ideal Halloween suit for those who are less comfortable with standing out because it allows you to dress up and at the same time, still appear modest enough to be passed off as a common dress.

Because the vintage evening dress was designed with a fashion style from another era, it naturally contrasts against contemporary norms. The common man on the street finds the vintage evening dress to be different from what he is used to seeing every day, but is not able to comprehend this confusion immediately. The effect of drawing mild attention to you without a loud Halloween costume is thus being achieved by the vintage evening dress.

Many of us like to dress up as famous names during Halloween, and many of these famous people are from a different era, and therefore necessarily dress in some kind of vintage clothing. For example, you might be dressing up as Cher or as Madonna during their hey-days in the 70s and 80s. A vintage evening dress which they might have worn before on a television set will be the perfect get-up for you.

Besides impersonating celebrities, you can also use a vintage evening dress when you dress up as a famous fictional character. You can be a bond-girl from the 70s James Bond movies, or you could be a modern day character whose story was set in the past.

For example, you can role play as Elvira, the sexy mistress of the Dark. The character wears a fitting black gown, much like a vintage evening dress from the 70s period. Complete your dress-up with a belt and dagger, with a pair of black high heels, and you’re on your way to stun your neighbours with your vintage Halloween gear.

Wear your vintage evening dress out to a Halloween party. Show off your class and at the same time, complement the theme of Halloween and dress ups!
